Base Salary
$160k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and improve vehicle chassis-control software for integration onto ECU hardware.
- Develop functionally safe software using automotive functional-safety standards and practices.
- Design toolchains for integrating model-based application software with ECU firmware.
- Coordinate software and requirements maturity with requirements engineers for validation.
- Create and track software release plans and testing activities for vehicle and field testing.
- Support autonomous-vehicle bring-up, troubleshooting, software testing, and verification.
- Develop test plans for routine releases and changes, including on-vehicle and simulation testing.
- Evaluate sensors, actuators, algorithms, and other autonomous-vehicle components against safety and performance requirements.
- Investigate and debug testing issues in collaboration with software, hardware, and systems engineers.
- Integrate vehicle software and hardware components and participate in tuning, calibration, triage, in-vehicle testing, visualization, and test-data post-processing.
Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. in automotive engineering, computer engineering, electronics/electrical engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience with embedded automotive systems in ADAS, autonomous driving, or vehicle chassis controls.
- Experience developing and implementing full-time critical systems.
- Experience with ISO 26262, MISRA-C, AUTOSAR, or similar standards and practices.
- Experience creating automated software-generation toolchains.
- Experience with C programming and Simulink-based modeling using MATLAB.
- Experience with Vector CANalyzer, CANape, Kvaser, New Eagle Raptor CAL, V-box, and ETAS INCA.
- Experience with vehicle CAN networks and configurations, J1939, CAN FD, and automotive Ethernet.
- Bonus: experience with steering and brake controls.
- Bonus: familiarity with dSPACE, vehicle-dynamics modeling toolchains, SiL/HiL setups, TruckMaker, and automotive-grade simulation tools.
- Bonus: hands-on experience with vehicle and aerodynamics, powertrain, suspension/compliance, steering/braking, and tire modeling.
