Base Salary

$120k - $261k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, debug, and troubleshoot firmware solutions for cloud hardware systems from concept through production.
  • Develop and maintain scalable, modular, and maintainable firmware architecture.
  • Define firmware requirements and specifications with hardware, software, validation, integration, product, security, vendor, and partner teams.
  • Design and implement firmware modules supporting USB vNIC, SPI, I2C, I3C, PCIe, and related hardware interfaces.
  • Perform system-level debugging and resolve hardware- and firmware-related issues across multiple subsystems.
  • Develop platform security threat models with vendors and security teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal developers and external partners.
  • Contribute to product vision and roadmap for the server manageability ecosystem.
  • Monitor firmware technology trends and recommend improvements.
  • Coach team members and support their continued growth and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C, C++, or Python, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Preferred: master’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of professional experience architecting, designing, and developing firmware or software solutions.
  • Experience with BMC, Embedded Linux, U-Boot, and Board Support Package porting.
  • 6+ years of experience with platform initialization or low-level peripheral drivers, memory management, scheduling, interrupts, or multithreading.
  • In-depth knowledge of OpenBMC, DMTF MCTP, Redfish, PLDM, SPDM, and RAS.
  • Knowledge of core networking protocols and REST API frameworks is a plus.
  • Strong design, development, debugging, troubleshooting, problem-solving, collaboration, and independent-working skills.
