Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Soldiers to understand operational requirements and translate mission needs into technical solutions within the SHEPRD application.
- Implement rapid updates, enhancements, and fixes based on mission objectives and user feedback.
- Test, deploy, and maintain new functionality while integrating it with existing processes and systems.
- Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting to operational users onsite and remotely.
- Conduct training and mentoring sessions for Soldiers and other users.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and other Agile development activities.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to improve development workflows and scalability.
- Recommend emerging technologies and innovative solutions for operational challenges.
- Prepare documentation, demonstrations, and reports for stakeholders.
- Travel occasionally within the continental United States to 25th Infantry Division locations and associated mission sites.
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance and eligibility to work on U.S. Government security-cleared projects; only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience building modern web applications with JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience developing backend services with Node.js or an equivalent server-side framework.
- Experience with relational databases, including schema design and query optimization.
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs.
- Experience deploying applications in containerized environments such as Docker.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and end-user collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with military personnel or federal agencies in operational environments.
- Preferred familiarity with Army software development processes, operational workflows, and mission systems.
- Preferred full-stack development experience with React and Express.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes or EKS and cloud or government-hosted environments such as AWS GovCloud or Azure Government.
- Preferred understanding of Scrum or Kanban and sprint ceremonies.
- Preferred experience improving operational decision-making systems using user feedback, prioritization logic, or performance analysis.
- Security+ certification or willingness to obtain it within six months of hire.
