Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the Apify MCP Server so agents can reliably call tens of thousands of Actors.
- Support evolving MCP protocols, including stateless transports, authorization hardening, and tool discovery.
- Shape the Apify AI agent runtime, tool integrations, and end-to-end task execution experience.
- Help autonomous agents discover and pay for Apify tools.
- Build production-trace-based evaluations, integrate regression tests into CI, and assess product changes.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building software.
- Backend experience with Node.js/TypeScript or Python.
- Hands-on experience building applications on top of large language models, including addressing tool-calling, context growth, and agent reliability challenges.
- Curiosity, self-direction, and comfort with loosely defined problems in a rapidly changing field.
- Interest in using the Apify platform and building enjoyable tools for other users.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
