Base Salary
$115k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and architect scalable, elastic distributed-system components for high-throughput workloads.
- Optimize code, data paths, and systems for large-scale data processing and retrieval.
- Design fault-tolerant, in-service-upgradable systems using redundancy, replication, failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Build performance and load tests, fault-injection and brownout scenarios, telemetry, dashboards, alerts, and operational runbooks.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, participate in incident response and root-cause investigations, and improve operational readiness.
- Develop automation, tooling, and infrastructure-as-code for troubleshooting and cloud-infrastructure management.
- Implement multi-tenant security controls, remediation plans, compliance documentation, and change-management procedures.
- Partner with product managers, architects, and engineering teams; document solutions and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of software-development experience; alternatively, a qualifying bachelor's degree plus 4 years, master's degree plus 2 years, or doctorate in a listed technical field.
- Degree fields may include computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, electrical/electronics engineering, computer or information systems, information technology, telecommunications, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge or ability in distributed systems, programming, software engineering, operating systems, API development and integration, algorithms, source control, and related areas.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, Go, C++, C#, or a similar programming language.
- Strong data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, software-engineering, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience building, testing, and debugging production-quality software and familiarity with REST APIs, databases, cloud applications, and cloud platforms.
- Experience with system-level testing and automation and delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems.
