Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance APIs and services.
- Ensure infrastructure is extensible, scalable, and reliable.
- Hide complexity from users with simple yet powerful abstractions.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and scientists to build scalable systems.
- Build APIs that power internal stakeholder-facing UI experiences.
- Debug production issues across services and improve long-term maintainability.
- Enhance engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
Requirements
- 4-12 years of experience designing and operating large-scale APIs.
- Experience implementing server-side APIs in dynamic languages like Ruby.
- Familiarity with document and relational datastores, especially Mongo and MySQL.
- Empathetic and collaborative mindset focused on user needs.
- Ability to seek feedback from users and teammates.
- Skills to build from specs to implementation and measuring impact.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
