Base Salary
$168k - $266k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and operate secure, resilient distributed systems for secrets and key management.
- Strengthen and re-architect internal PKI and machine/workload identity systems.
- Own critical production services, including debugging failures, recovering service, and improving reliability.
- Support internal developers in using security platform services correctly.
- Participate in on-call rotation and emergency incident response.
- Consult on the design and architecture of new systems and products to ensure secure implementation.
Requirements
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining production software in Go, C, C++, Rust, or comparable languages.
- Experience building and operating critical production services or infrastructure and reasoning about distributed-system failure modes.
- Hands-on production administration and troubleshooting experience with Linux/UNIX systems.
- Experience developing or operating software or systems that provide security capabilities or enforce security boundaries.
- Working knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography and PKI sufficient to make sound implementation choices with established libraries and protocols.
- Preferred experience with secrets management, key management, internal certificate authorities/PKI, machine and workload identity, and key or credential lifecycle management.
- Preferred familiarity with HashiCorp Vault, OpenBao, hardware-backed security such as HSMs and TPMs, trusted execution environments, Go, Python, or Salt.
- Open-source contributions in security, systems software, or distributed systems are a plus.
