Responsibilities
- Develop software solutions for the reliability of large-scale distributed systems.
- Build a deep understanding of Pinterest’s systems to identify risks and opportunities.
- Create tools and automation to reduce operational overhead.
- Establish meaningful and actionable Service Level Indicators (SLIs).
- Automate engineering processes to minimize risk and enhance innovation speed.
- Manage capacity and performance for scaling infrastructure on public and private clouds.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix/BSD internals and experience with open source software.
- Experience with technologies like ElasticSearch, ZooKeeper, and Kafka focused on reliability.
- 4+ years of experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Ruby.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Docker is a plus.
- Experience deploying web apps to cloud infrastructure is a bonus.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
