Responsibilities
- Build and evolve distributed services supporting large-scale training and reinforcement learning workloads.
- Improve researcher and engineer iteration loops and apply performance optimization techniques.
- Own or collaborate on architecture for complex products and solutions while ensuring scalability, resiliency, security, privacy, compliance, and cost requirements.
- Write extensible, maintainable, well-tested, secure, and performant code and guide less experienced engineers.
- Partner with stakeholders on project plans, release plans, estimation, capacity planning, rollback planning, and production readiness.
- Operate live services through rotational on-call support, incident mitigation, postmortems, troubleshooting improvements, and observability and monitoring enhancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 8+ years of related software engineering experience; or a master's degree and 5+ years; or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in .NET, Java, Azure Functions, Docker, and Python.
- Experience delivering large-scale, distributed, cloud-based software services.
- Passion for machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate complex concepts.
- Preferred: experience shipping and maintaining Microsoft Azure cloud services, especially machine learning model-serving services.
- Preferred: experience with AI agents and tool use, AI/ML internals, Agile development practices, and CI/CD.
- Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud Background Check and other applicable security-screening requirements.
