Responsibilities
- Contribute across the technology stack, including Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, Vue, and AWS.
- Integrate data activation capabilities into the Fivetran product across UI, authentication, billing, data models, and other areas.
- Prototype ideas, fill gaps in product and design specifications, and develop product features.
- Work with product teams, leaders, and customers to design and develop data activation experiences.
- Mentor early-career engineers, conduct code reviews, and advise on engineering best practices.
- Provide project-level leadership across teams, departments, and time zones.
- Lead major projects from research spikes and design documents through implementation planning and rollout.
Requirements
- Expertise in at least one interpreted language such as Python or Ruby on Rails.
- Hands-on experience with at least one compiled language such as C++, Kotlin, Scala, Go, or Java.
- Solid understanding of relational databases; Snowflake experience is a bonus.
- Experience with system integration, including API consumption and development; infrastructure management experience is a bonus.
- Familiarity with leading cloud providers such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience being on-call.
- Ability to build, deploy, and maintain software end to end.
- Adeptness with data, backend systems, APIs, and UI components.
- Ability to work directly with customers and operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
- Availability for synchronous and asynchronous collaboration with a distributed North American team.
- Ability to work in person at the Toronto office two days per week.
