Responsibilities
- Define and drive large-scale architectural decisions across multiple domains while evaluating quality, scalability, sustainability, and long-term tradeoffs.
- Lead complex architecture discussions, align stakeholders on technical approaches, and resolve systemic architectural challenges.
- Define patterns, standards, guides, and best practices for architecture and AI adoption across the software lifecycle.
- Use AI to surface system-level insights and influence ethical, secure, and sustainable AI investment and usage.
- Partner with engineering, product, and business leaders to align architecture with product roadmaps, company strategy, and multi-year plans.
- Prioritize architectural initiatives, improve documentation, and lead knowledge-sharing and adoption across engineering communities.
- Establish durable solutions to systemic issues and improve the consistency and quality of design decisions across the organization.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering and/or architecture; Senior Staff Architect candidates should have 12+ years.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Expert knowledge of software architecture principles, modern cloud technologies, distributed systems design, and software security practices.
- Extensive knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, automation, scalability, resilience, and CI/CD.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex architectural problems, engage cross-functional stakeholders, and build consensus across domains.
- Hands-on familiarity with AI coding agents including Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot, with judgment to govern their responsible use.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture, integration patterns, cloud platforms, AI investment strategy, and ethical AI usage.
- Knowledge of Agile frameworks and tools such as issue tracking and documentation platforms.
