Responsibilities
- Design and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test cases for REST and SOAP APIs.
- Validate request and response payloads, status codes, authentication, error handling, business rules, backend data accuracy, and data integrity.
- Test stored procedures, functions, views, database validations, source-to-target transformations, batch jobs, ETL processes, reconciliations, dependencies, and downstream results.
- Test chatbot functionality, integrations, conversational workflows, and backend responses.
- Document defects, maintain test evidence, communicate testing outcomes, and collaborate with developers, business analysts, product teams, and quality engineering professionals.
- Analyze logs, isolate backend issues, and collaborate with development teams on root-cause analysis.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience testing REST and SOAP APIs using tools such as Postman, Swagger, SoapUI, or Rest Assured.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with database testing, backend validation, and data integrity verification using SQL Server or Oracle.
- Experience with batch testing, ETL testing, source-to-target validation, and data reconciliation.
- Experience testing chatbot functionality, integrations, conversational workflows, and backend responses.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience using Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Experience validating scheduled batch processes using Control-M, Airflow, or similar orchestration tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of API automation, database test automation, reusable testing frameworks, and complex enterprise integrations is preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, log analysis, and root-cause analysis skills are preferred.
