Responsibilities
- Assess current testing maturity, processes, bottlenecks, risks, and inefficiencies across teams.
- Define and implement scalable test architecture and service-level strategies for UI, API, integration, contract, regression, visual, and non-functional testing.
- Standardize tools, languages, frameworks, test data, reporting, mocking, selectors, page objects, and automation guardrails.
- Drive shift-left quality practices, improve local and CI feedback loops, and increase reliability of automated tests for real-time and event-driven systems.
- Own the test framework roadmap and contribution model, including review, versioning, governance, and safe rollout of changes.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, code reviews, and design reviews for QA engineers across domains.
- Develop quality metrics, dashboards, traceability, regression-health reporting, and release-readiness practices.
- Partner with Engineering, QA, DevOps, Product, and Architecture stakeholders and represent quality risks in release decisions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Test Lead, QA Lead, Principal or Lead QA Engineer, or senior quality engineering leader in a complex product or platform environment.
- Strong hands-on experience designing test automation architecture and strategy across UI, API, integration, contract, and regression testing.
- Experience building and governing scalable test frameworks, standards, reusable patterns, and best practices across multiple teams.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and technically directing QA engineers without necessarily having line-management responsibility.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD integration, release readiness, quality gates, feedback-loop optimization, and shift-left practices.
- Experience improving automation reliability through deterministic test design, mocking, flaky-test reduction, and stable regression execution.
- Strong understanding of test reporting, quality metrics, traceability, and service-level testing for independently deployable systems.
- Preferred experience with Playwright, Selenium, Vitest or Jest, Pact, Zod, OpenAPI, visual regression testing, WebSocket or streaming systems, SSO or Okta flows, TestRail, Allure, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, TeamCity, Octopus, TypeScript, Node.js, C# or .NET, k6, NBomber, or JMeter.
- Experience defining standards for AI-assisted development and testing tools, working in financial services or regulated environments, and holding ISTQB certification or equivalent practical expertise is valued.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology.
