Responsibilities
- Execute test plans, primarily through automated tests and occasionally through manual tests.
- Develop a basic understanding of the test automation frameworks in use.
- Create and maintain the automated test suite and report on its status.
- Provide estimates to senior SDETs and communicate risks to delivery targets.
- Identify, research, and track defects through resolution with the QA team.
- Maintain manual testing responsibilities while transitioning to automation tasks.
- Contribute to testing strategies and select appropriate methodologies based on change sets and acceptance criteria.
- Debug software applications using stack traces, output logs, and debugging tools.
- Complete assigned performance-plan responsibilities, special projects, and other duties.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience working with software in quality assurance.
- Basic-to-mid-level experience with at least one object-oriented programming language, such as C# or Java.
- Good understanding of testing methodologies, quality assurance techniques, and best practices.
- Reasonable understanding of Web APIs and how to interact with them.
- Understanding of software design principles and patterns.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and build pipelines.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar issue-tracking tools.
- Experience testing or developing front-end applications, including web, mobile, or desktop applications.
- Ability to operate independently and in a team environment.
- Degree in computer science, information systems, or similar technical education preferred; high school, college education, or a related certificate program is also stated as qualifying education.
- Clear communication, attention to detail, time-management, and debugging capabilities.
