Responsibilities
- Assist with the design, development, support, and testing of basic technology solutions under supervision.
- Participate in various stages of the software development life cycle.
- Develop basic technical deliverables and write clean, testable code with mentorship.
- Contribute to software verification and testing plans.
- Document technical solution functionality and assist with troubleshooting and debugging.
- Observe and participate in software deployment and software update processes.
- Use approved AI tools for technical research, code and documentation drafting, and productivity support.
- Evaluate AI-generated suggestions for correctness, maintainability, and alignment with coding standards.
- Follow secure and responsible AI usage practices, including not sharing sensitive client or company data in external tools.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Must be a current third-year degree student completing an internship or work placement that is mandatory for the degree program or coursework.
- Must return to studies after the internship and provide educational-institution confirmation that the placement is part of course requirements.
- No professional experience is required; academic or personal coding projects are a plus.
- Basic Java knowledge, SQL familiarity, exposure to IntelliJ, interest in AWS, familiarity with JIRA and Git, and familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT are beneficial.
- Ability to write basic technical prompts and verify AI-assisted output using tests, documentation, and logical reasoning.
- Interest in technology and software engineering principles, along with problem-solving, clear communication, initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
