Base Salary
$208k - $263k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the core Bazel build ecosystem used by Zoox engineers to compile code and run tests.
- Improve Bazel performance, streamline incremental builds, and reduce engineering iteration times.
- Work with EngFlow to optimize the remote build execution platform.
- Develop custom Bazel rules and tooling using Starlark.
- Integrate code coverage, static and dynamic analysis, and Include-What-You-Use into build and development workflows.
- Build tools and dashboards that help developers ship software faster and with higher quality.
- Drive efficiency improvements and cost optimization across Zoox’s build and computing infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional experience.
- At least 4 years of expertise with Bazel or similar build systems such as Buck or Pants.
- Linux experience.
- Familiarity with maintaining large polyglot codebases.
- Comfort writing Python to integrate tools and automate workflows.
- C++ experience is a bonus qualification.
- Experience contributing to open-source Bazel is a bonus qualification.
