Base Salary
$81k - $121k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement, develop, operate, and improve cybersecurity solutions.
- Provide functional and technical cybersecurity expertise for projects.
- Gather business and IT information to develop security-related processes and procedures.
- Drive tasks and projects to completion through project management, customer interaction, and IT coordination.
- Triage support problems and respond with the appropriate urgency.
- Participate in a scheduled 24x7 on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
Requirements
- Requires 1–5 years of experience in information security operations.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience.
- Requires familiarity with firewalls, proxies, network access controls, intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, routing, identity concepts, data loss prevention, and secure coding and configuration standards.
- Requires functional proficiency with at least one coding or scripting language, such as PowerShell, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Requires experience with Windows Server, Linux operating systems, and SaaS, IaaS, or PaaS cloud technology.
- Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISA, Security+, CCNA, or CCNP Security.
- Requires analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, organization, time management, communication, presentation, facilitation, estimation, and coordination skills.

- The role is based at the CarMax Home Office at West Creek in Richmond, Virginia, with onsite work four days per week.

- Full-time hourly or commission/incentive-eligible associates may accrue up to 48 hours of sick time and 80–200 hours of vacation annually after a 90-day waiting period, depending on service.
- Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away as needed, subject to manager approval.
