Responsibilities
- Own the technical design and end-to-end delivery of Axiom Data capabilities from requirements and architecture through implementation, testing, release, and production support.
- Build and integrate scalable web applications, microservices, APIs, data pipelines, and cloud-native services.
- Develop integrations among Axiom, DealCloud, external feeds, upstream data platforms, and downstream consumers while maintaining field mappings and data contracts.
- Design and enhance data models and data distribution through Snowflake, warehouse tables, and APIs for deal, issuer, product, ratings, and financial data.
- Implement data validation, reconciliation, lineage, exception handling, and historical-data integrity controls.
- Write and coordinate automated unit, integration, deployment, regression, performance, UAT, and reconciliation testing.
- Drive AWS cloud modernization, containerization, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, monitoring, and operational resilience.
- Diagnose production issues, document root causes and support procedures, and automate repetitive operational tasks.
- Lead technical design and code reviews, manage delivery using Jira and Agile practices, and communicate dependencies and risks across globally distributed teams.
- Partner on governed AI-enabled data access and discovery, including metadata-driven chat and agent queries, while preserving access controls and validating results.
- Mentor engineers, raise engineering standards, evaluate emerging technologies, and use approved AI-assisted tools to improve quality and productivity.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in C# and/or Python, strong SQL skills, and experience with relational databases and cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and agentic development tools; experience with LLM-powered features such as AI agents, tool/function calling, retrieval-augmented generation, or prompt engineering is preferred.
- Experience building data pipelines, integration services, data models, validation and reconciliation controls, and historical or effective-dated data systems; Snowflake and data warehousing experience are advantageous.
- Experience with RESTful API design, scalable microservice architectures, messaging, and preferably GraphQL or event-driven integration.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript and experience building or integrating web applications across front-end, services, and data layers.
- Experience developing scalable, secure, maintainable object-oriented software.
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins or GitLab Runners; Terraform and containerization experience are preferred.
- Experience as a hands-on technical lead with ownership of design and delivery, stakeholder collaboration, mentoring, and influence over engineering practices.
- Financial services, credit markets, deal and security reference data, issuer financials, ratings, investment operations, metadata catalogs, data lineage, governed data access, natural-language data queries, or agent integrations are preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
