Base Salary
$145k - $183k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build high-performance React applications powered by WebSockets, SSE, and GraphQL subscriptions.
- Contribute to Picnic’s courier mobile applications built with React Native.
- Lead technical design from initial architecture through production rollout.
- Own projects end to end, including execution, technical decisions, and cross-functional alignment.
- Improve frontend reliability, latency, and scalability in real-time, high-throughput systems.
- Lead debugging, incident response, and frontend performance investigations.
- Mentor and coach engineers and help improve frontend engineering practices.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience with deep frontend expertise.
- Strong experience with TypeScript and modern web application development.
- Understanding of client networking, asynchronous programming, performance optimization, caching, and client-side state management.
- Experience integrating with GraphQL and REST APIs.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives and influence architecture and engineering best practices.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and supporting team growth.
- Preferred: experience with delivery, logistics, or real-time systems at scale.
- Preferred: full-stack experience and understanding of backend tradeoffs and system design.
- Preferred: experience improving developer productivity through tooling, patterns, or process improvements.
- Preferred: familiarity with frontend architecture practices involving performance, security, and usability.
