Responsibilities
- Understand data requirements from investment research teams and deliver impactful solutions.
- Design, implement, test, optimize, and troubleshoot data pipelines and services using Python and q.
- Work with PostgreSQL, kdb+, and other database technologies.
- Analyze, onboard, and curate vendor datasets while developing subject matter expertise in third-party data.
- Take a leading role in production support and operational excellence during business hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Python and/or kdb+/q.
- Experience developing software in a Linux environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and frameworks.
- Knowledge of SQL and experience with relational and/or time-series databases are preferred.
- Experience building and operating data-intensive applications is preferred.
- Experience working with and analyzing financial datasets is preferred.
