Base Salary
$405k - $625k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy and roadmap for the assigned developer productivity infrastructure area.
- Define infrastructure architecture and solve complex technical problems directly or through others.
- Design and build scalable, reliable distributed infrastructure and shared libraries for high-volume workloads.
- Own and evolve build environments, package management, and dependency systems for fast, reproducible builds.
- Define and implement language ecosystem standards, tooling, and frameworks that improve developer productivity.
- Support internal engineering and research partners in improving their development experience.
Requirements
- Deep experience with build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and/or developer tooling in a large monorepo environment.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Rust, and/or Go.
- Experience with container orchestration and infrastructure at scale.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working independently on ambiguous, high-impact technical challenges.
- 15+ years of software engineering experience building and operating large-scale developer infrastructure may be expected for strong candidates.
- 3+ years leading large-scale complex projects or teams as a tech lead may be expected for strong candidates.
- Experience with CI orchestration tools, merge queue management, remote build execution systems, Nix/NixOS or Docker, large image or package sets, CLI tools, developer-facing services, and GitHub API automation is valuable.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
