Responsibilities
- Design and manage build, CI/CD, and developer tooling infrastructure used by researchers and engineers.
- Maintain and optimize Bazel rules, macros, toolchains, remote caching, and monorepo builds.
- Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines, including dynamic pipelines, agent fleets, and build-time optimization.
- Improve the Python ecosystem through packaging, dependency management, virtual environments, and monorepo integration.
- Develop backend services, CLI applications, and internal developer tooling.
- Run containerized workloads on managed or self-hosted Kubernetes and manage complex AWS environments.
- Manage IAM policies, observability and monitoring practices, on-call responsibilities, and incident response.
- Share platform ownership with the infrastructure team and build tools that improve engineering efficiency.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience writing and maintaining Bazel rules, macros, and toolchains.
- Experience with remote caching, build optimization, and CI/CD pipeline management, preferably with Buildkite.
- Strong Python proficiency, including packaging, dependency management with uv, pip, or Poetry, and virtual environments.
- Experience integrating Python and ML or research codebases into a monorepo build system.
- Proficiency in Go and experience writing backend services, CLI applications, and internal developer tooling.
- Expertise debugging Linux network and process issues.
- Experience running containers using managed or self-hosted Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with AWS services and hands-on experience with Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Experience managing IAM policies, observability and monitoring, incident response, and shared on-call responsibilities.
