Responsibilities
- Design and architect FHIR-based healthcare interoperability solutions for enterprise clients.
- Analyze healthcare business, clinical, and integration requirements and translate them into scalable FHIR architectures.
- Design healthcare APIs, data models, integration patterns, FHIR profiles, extensions, standards, and implementation guidelines.
- Lead FHIR solution design from discovery and requirements through implementation.
- Advise clients on FHIR adoption, implementation strategies, and interoperability best practices.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance and troubleshoot complex healthcare interoperability and FHIR challenges.
- Review existing healthcare integration and FHIR implementations.
- Work with healthcare stakeholders, architects, developers, and client technical teams.
- Support and mentor the internal Healthcare/FHIR team.
- Help establish and grow the company’s Healthcare FHIR practice.
- Participate in client workshops, technical discovery, solution design, and presales activities when required.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience in the Healthcare or MedTech domain and healthcare interoperability or data exchange.
- Understanding of EHR/EMR systems, clinical systems, healthcare applications, and healthcare data platforms.
- Experience working with healthcare organizations, providers, payers, or healthcare technology companies.
- Knowledge of healthcare data privacy, security, regulatory requirements, HIPAA, and US healthcare data regulations.
- Strong, demonstrable HL7 FHIR experience, including hands-on design and implementation of real-world FHIR solutions.
- Architect-level FHIR knowledge, including resources, profiles, extensions, REST APIs, and interoperability patterns.
- Experience advising customers on FHIR architecture and implementation and independently leading technical architecture decisions.
- Direct experience working with healthcare clients and stakeholders.
- Strong consulting, communication, English communication, and technical discussion skills.
- Ability to explain complex healthcare and technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience implementing SMART on FHIR applications, US Core, USCDI, Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, HAPI FHIR or other FHIR servers, healthcare integration engines, cloud healthcare solutions, healthcare consulting, technical presales, or establishing and leading a FHIR practice is preferred.
