Responsibilities
- Analyze existing database structures, stored procedures, API specifications, core systems, billing modules, and API-based procedures.
- Design, develop, and maintain Oracle tables, views, indexes, partitions, materialized views, procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
- Write, debug, extend, optimize, and performance-tune SQL and PL/SQL code and complex queries.
- Develop and maintain automated processes using Oracle Scheduled Jobs, including DBMS_SCHEDULER and DBMS_JOB.
- Implement and support Oracle Advanced Queue for asynchronous workflows.
- Design, document, publish, version, monitor, and maintain APIs throughout their lifecycle.
- Support APIs through HTTP services and WebSockets, including routing, load balancing, authentication, authorization, data masking, throttling, rate limiting, and circuit breaker policies.
- Monitor API metrics and troubleshoot performance, routing, security, compatibility, and integration issues.
- Manage backward compatibility and API deprecation strategies.
- Translate high-level business requirements into database extensions and API-related tasks, and coordinate implementation with technical teams.
- Plan and track delivery activities in Jira according to the delivery roadmap.
- Maintain clear technical documentation, API specifications, error models, and integration guides.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to database practice improvements and development standards.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL and PL/SQL development.
- Practical experience with Oracle Scheduled Jobs, including DBMS_SCHEDULER or DBMS_JOB.
- Working knowledge of Oracle Advanced Queue.
- Experience with Oracle 11g, 12c, 19c, or later.
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts and database performance tuning.
- Ability to analyze database structures, stored procedures, and API specifications and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience with API design, lifecycle management, performance considerations, REST architecture, HTTP methods, and JSON/XML data formats.
- Understanding of routing, throttling, rate limiting, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or GitLab.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Preferred experience with API monitoring, logging, and performance analytics.
- Familiarity with API gateways and API policy configuration, including authentication policies, throttling, and quotas.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines or automated deployment processes is preferred.
- Exposure to integration platforms or message-driven architectures is preferred.
- Willingness to create and maintain technical documentation and work collaboratively in an Agile environment.
