Responsibilities
- Lead functional safety initiatives for complex automotive SoC software.
- Define ADAS/AD safety concepts, software safety architecture, safety requirements, and safety plans.
- Develop and debug embedded software, BSPs, device drivers, and software for Qualcomm reference designs.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, integration, quality, safety, partner, and customer teams on architecture, customization, optimization, and hardware bring-up.
- Support customer safety discussions, audits, corrective actions, and timely closure of process gaps.
- Ensure software development outputs and processes adhere to ISO 26262, SOTIF, ASPICE, and related automotive safety standards.
- Create technical documentation for designs, code, requirements, and test procedures.
- Use debugging and performance-profiling techniques to resolve hardware-software and system issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with 4+ years; another listed qualification allows a bachelor's degree with 4+ years, master's degree with 3+ years, or PhD with 2+ years.
- 10-15 years of industry experience in systems, embedded software, and safety engineering in the automotive domain.
- At least 2 years of experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- At least 1 year of experience with debugging techniques.
- Strong embedded software engineering experience in BSP design, development, debugging, device drivers, system architecture, hardware bring-up, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Linux, Android, Green Hills Integrity, QNX, hypervisors, and real-time operating systems.
- Experience with USB, UART, SPI, I2C, PCIe, Ethernet, ARM architecture, clocks, PLLs, GPIO, interrupt controllers, JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Preferred experience defining automotive functional safety software architecture and requirements, implementing embedded software for automotive SoCs, and applying ISO 26262 Part 6, ASPICE, or equivalent standards.
- Preferred experience with FMEA, DFA, FTA, static analysis, code coverage, requirements management, safety analysis, and safety software testing.
- Ability to read and write technical specifications, analyze and solve complex problems, collaborate with customers, and produce clear technical documentation.
