Responsibilities
- Develop low-level firmware with Broadcom SDKs for broadband and cable-access SoCs.
- Implement RF control loops for AGC, ALC, tilt adjustment, dynamic power management and echo cancellation.
- Interface with RF attenuators, equalizers, power amplifiers and environmental sensors over I2C, SPI and GPIO.
- Write and maintain Linux kernel drivers, character devices and user-space daemons interacting with hardware registers and memory-mapped I/O.
- Build gNMI, Protobuf, JSON and MQTT-based telemetry and remote-management agents.
- Collaborate with US-based firmware, RF hardware and systems engineering teams on design reviews, code reviews and architecture.
- Perform board bring-up and hardware validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and RF spectrum analyzers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Preferably 5+ years of hands-on embedded software or firmware development experience in C and C++.
- Strong knowledge of RF fundamentals, dynamic signal management and AGC control loops in amplified RF transmission paths.
- Hands-on experience with Broadcom broadband or RF-access SoCs and SDKs at register and hardware-abstraction levels.
- Deep experience with Embedded Linux driver development, Linux networking internals and I2C, SPI and UART buses.
- Practical experience implementing gNMI, Protobuf, JSON and MQTT connectivity for device configuration and streaming telemetry.
- Experience collaborating with US-based or distributed engineering teams and aligning with US working hours.
- DOCSIS 3.1, DOCSIS 4.0 FDX, ESD, CableLabs specifications, YANG data modeling and RF measurement experience are advantageous.
