Responsibilities
- Develop machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and scientific computing models for research, engineering, product development, and process innovation.
- Partner with scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to define requirements and translate technical problems into modeling solutions.
- Prepare data, perform exploratory data analysis, and develop, test, refine, and scale machine learning models.
- Interpret analytical results and communicate findings, implications, and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
- Research emerging AI/ML technologies, support software development, document technical work, provide user training, and mentor engineers and scientists.
- Manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams to deliver analytics and machine learning solutions.
Requirements
- An MS or PhD in engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline with specialization in machine learning and artificial intelligence is required.
- A background in physics, chemistry, engineering, or another scientific discipline is required.
- Independent experience preparing machine learning data and performing exploratory data analysis is required.
- Deep knowledge of traditional machine learning, deep learning, convolutional neural networks, recurrent neural networks, generative models, and reinforcement learning is required.
- Practical experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow, familiarity with generative AI tools and frameworks, and strong Python programming and mathematical skills are required.
- Experience with Windows, Linux parallel-processing cluster environments, and Databricks is required.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with time series, computer vision, natural language processing, physics-informed neural networks, uncertainty quantification, scientific code, scalable data analytics, Databricks Workflows, Delta Lake, data governance, software design, and relevant publications.
- Strong communication, collaboration, independent working ability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are expected.
