Base Salary

$146k - $195k/yr

Responsibilities

Partner with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and design simple, reliable, flexible solutions.
Drive implementation by writing code, conducting code reviews, mentoring engineers, and supporting technical decision-making.
Maintain and improve software through performance optimization, bug fixes, feature additions, design improvements, usability improvements, and automation.
Document systems so they can be maintained by future developers.
Serve as an on-call first responder for software owned by the team.

8+ years of industry experience, including end-to-end ownership of a production backend system from design through long-term operational ownership.
2+ years designing, building, or operating a real-time or low-latency video streaming service such as HLS/DASH delivery or WebRTC media distribution.
Experience with WebRTC, GStreamer, ffmpeg, or libav.
Familiarity with HLS/DASH, fMP4, CMAF, adaptive bitrate packaging, H.264, HEVC, AV1, AAC, SRT, RTMP, WHIP, and MoQ.
Extensive experience building and running cloud-based microservices and distributed systems.
Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical decisions within a team.
Proficiency in at least one major programming language, such as Go, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java.
Extensive experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Experience with IoT or smart home video streaming applications is preferred.
Familiarity with the Agile Scrum process and strong problem-solving skills.

Target annual base pay range of $146,000–$195,000, plus potential bonus, equity, and other compensation.
