Base Salary

$167k - $246k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop new features in the Linux kernel for enterprise storage products.
  • Maintain and patch existing code to resolve difficult technical and customer issues.
  • Optimize kernel performance across CPU instruction sets, NUMA, interrupt handling, and threading.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems at the boundary of hardware and software with partners and vendors.
  • Lead software architecture and development from initial concept through release.
  • Collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams, provide mentorship, participate in code reviews, and define requirements for storage server projects.

Requirements

  • Deep hands-on experience with Linux kernel and device driver development and a record of shipping high-performance, resilient products.
  • Strong foundation in computer architecture, operating systems, networking, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, debugging, design, and validation skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Preferred experience upstreaming Linux kernel code.
  • Preferred experience with storage system concepts and protocols, especially NVMe and PCIe.
  • Preferred experience working with hardware vendors to resolve difficult problems.
