Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-assurance security systems protecting sensitive intellectual property.
- Develop and maintain cryptographic key management services, access-control policies, and shared security libraries.
- Build access-control, classification, and risk-reporting systems supporting governance and auditability.
- Develop APIs and integrations embedding security controls into the wider engineering platform.
- Contribute to detection and scanning capabilities for identifying protected assets and validating controls.
- Operate and harden security-critical infrastructure, including physical server environments with dual-control procedures.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution for critical security systems.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, replace, or rebuild existing systems.
- Partner with research stakeholders to deliver effective security controls without unnecessary workflow friction.
Requirements
- Strong experience delivering production-quality software, ideally using C#/.NET.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, concurrency, distributed systems, and API design.
- Experience building or operating security-sensitive systems where correctness and auditability are critical.
- Sound engineering judgment balancing security, performance, reliability, and delivery.
- Clear communication and a collaborative, pragmatic approach.
- Experience with modern development practices, including code review and automated testing.
- Experience with cryptography, key management, or security-sensitive infrastructure is highly desirable.
- Experience with hardened environments, operational controls, or shared security components is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with access control, identity management, or approval workflow engines is highly desirable.
- Strong Linux, infrastructure automation, and Kubernetes experience, including infrastructure as code and observability tooling, is highly desirable.
- Full-stack development experience for internal tools and dashboards is highly desirable.
- Experience with Python, TypeScript, Go, or Rust is a plus.
- Exposure to threat modeling, remediation, or security architecture reviews is a plus.
- Experience in regulated or security-conscious environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with Git internals, self-hosted Git platforms, or source code management security is a plus.
