Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, enhancement, optimization, and scaling of NLP and generative or agentic AI models and applications.
- Drive technical initiatives across multi-agent AI, RAG, voice AI assistants, language processing, and customer-focused generative AI solutions.
- Develop proprietary integrations with third-party solutions and collaborate with AI, full-stack, and product teams on project requirements and business alignment.
- Oversee MLOps pipelines covering data preprocessing, model training, fine-tuning, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Build and manage containerized AI backend services using Docker and FastAPI.
- Establish and evolve engineering standards, best practices, processes, and documentation for the NLP and generative AI team.
- Mentor engineers and junior team members while providing technical leadership and supporting their professional development.
- Conduct research into emerging NLP and generative AI techniques and represent the company at industry conferences and events.
Requirements
- Native-level written and verbal Dutch and English are required; French is a plus.
- A Master's or PhD in Computer Science, NLP, AI, ML, or a related field is required.
- At least 5 years of experience implementing NLP and generative AI models, including deep expertise in transformer architectures, language models, and embeddings.
- Demonstrated leadership of technical AI/ML projects, including mentoring and project management.
- Expert proficiency in Python and extensive experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face Transformers.
- Strong NLP knowledge covering text classification, named entity recognition, sentiment analysis, and language generation.
- Experience with large language model fine-tuning, prompt engineering, evaluation methodologies, scalable production deployments, and MLOps.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
- Experience with Azure and scalable cloud-based AI solutions.
- TypeScript experience is a plus.
- Open-source contributions, advanced NLP GitHub repositories, relevant Kaggle competitions, publications, multilingual NLP, cross-lingual transfer learning, or experience in data quality, retail, manufacturing, or finance are advantageous.
