Responsibilities
- Own design-for-serviceability for the robot’s software, firmware, and AI stack so systems can be diagnosed, updated, and recovered in the field.
- Collaborate with R&D to build and validate diagnostic scripts, tooling, and self-test routines that localize faults.
- Own software diagnostic content in the Digital Shadow platform, including remote diagnostics, fleet-pattern detection, and AR-guided execution.
- Validate software and AI aspects of service, repair, calibration, and OTA procedures before production release.
- Own firmware, bootloader, calibration serviceability, and recovery paths for failed updates.
- Support New Services Introduction for software and serve as the Services-to-R&D interface for software escalations.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering experience in robotics or embedded systems using ROS2, Bash, and Ubuntu/Linux, including bootloader and firmware workflows.
- Proficiency in Python and ideally C++ for diagnostics, tooling, and automation.
- Hands-on experience diagnosing robots or complex electromechanical systems across software, firmware, calibration, and hardware faults.
- Working understanding of 2D/3D LiDAR, RGB cameras, motors, and actuators from a software and diagnostic perspective.
- Experience with disciplined engineering practices and Git version control.
- A design-for-serviceability mindset focused on field technicians and practical service procedures.
