Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable telemetry ingest and storage pipelines for metrics, logs, traces, and error data across multi-cluster infrastructure.
  • Build low-overhead observability solutions that provide deep fleet-wide visibility into system behavior.
  • Own observability platforms and lead migrations and architectural improvements that improve reliability, reduce cost, and scale with growth.
  • Build instrumentation libraries, SDKs, and eBPF-based auto-instrumentation with and without application code changes.
  • Develop cross-signal correlation, unified query interfaces, and AI-assisted diagnostic tooling to reduce detection and resolution times.
  • Use continuous profiling and utilization telemetry to optimize CPU, memory, and accelerator fleets.
  • Partner with Research, Inference, Product, and Infrastructure teams on operational visibility and incident response.

Requirements

  • Experience building and operating large-scale observability or monitoring infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with observability signals from instrumentation through ingest, querying, and analysis.
  • Understanding of high-throughput telemetry pipeline tradeoffs for collecting, storing, and querying operational data at scale.
  • Ability to debug below the application layer in the kernel, network stack, or hardware.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to partner with internal teams on operational visibility and incident response.
  • Ability to work independently on ambiguous, high-impact technical challenges.
  • Preferred: production experience with eBPF-based tracing, profiling, or network visibility.
  • Preferred: fleet-scale continuous profiling, overhead-budget management, and symbolization experience.
  • Preferred: kernel and syscall debugging, performance engineering, accelerator workload profiling or instrumentation, high-cardinality metrics, telemetry storage backends, log storage migrations, columnar databases, OpenTelemetry, collector pipelines, and tail-based sampling.
  • Preferred: interest in applying AI or LLMs to root cause analysis, anomaly detection, or intelligent alerting.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in a relevant field or demonstrated through relevant coursework, training, or professional experience.

Benefits

  • Hybrid policy requiring staff to be in an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office time.
  • Competitive benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and office collaboration space.
  • Visa sponsorship is offered with reasonable efforts made after an offer, subject to role and candidate eligibility.
