Responsibilities
- Define, document, and deliver firmware features for new webcam products while supporting existing products and innovation projects.
- Design, develop, debug, and test firmware for embedded platforms running Linux or RTOS.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering, technology, software, embedded software, and chip-provider teams.
- Work with USB, SPI, I2C, UART, and MIPI peripheral interfaces and extend UVC, UAC, and HID protocols.
- Create product features that improve webcam capabilities and user experiences.
- Establish embedded software design practices including code reviews, collaborative workflows, modularity, reuse, and testability.
- Provide technical recommendations, documentation, specifications, and implementation guidance.
- Support portfolio continuous improvement and business continuity.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of C and C++ programming languages.
- At least 8 years of embedded software and firmware development experience, including work with SoCs designed for video products.
- Hands-on experience with the Linux kernel, RTOS, device drivers, and USB communication standards including UVC, UAC, and HID.
- Strong understanding of USB, SPI, I2C, UART, and MIPI specifications.
- Expertise in embedded architecture design, API creation, and code reusability.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
- Ability to work effectively within global teams and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to travel internationally and fluency in written and spoken Chinese and English.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, telecommunications, or a related field.
- Preferred: experience with proprietary SDKs, Python, Linux shell scripting, computational photography, image processing algorithms, deep learning in embedded systems, or harness engineering for AI coding agents in C/C++ embedded codebases.
