Base Salary
$180k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate production services, APIs, tooling, and automation for large-scale bare-metal and GPU infrastructure.
- Develop systems for server discovery, provisioning, configuration, validation, lifecycle management, and capacity deployment.
- Integrate software with hardware management and provisioning systems and enable programmatic interaction with physical infrastructure.
- Build telemetry, logging, observability, diagnostic, and incident-response tooling for infrastructure and hardware issues.
- Partner with networking, infrastructure operations, data center, and platform engineering teams on architecture and new infrastructure capabilities.
- Write design and technical documentation and contribute to engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering, infrastructure engineering, or related experience.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and production backend development experience in Python or similar object-oriented programming languages.
- Strong experience with Linux in production environments.
- Experience building APIs, tooling, or automation for infrastructure at scale.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration concepts.
- Understanding of HPC and bare-metal infrastructure fundamentals, including provisioning and out-of-band management.
- Ability to make pragmatic architecture decisions while building for reliability and scale.
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment with substantial ownership and autonomy.
- Preferred experience with bare-metal hardware troubleshooting and provisioning, including PXE/iPXE, BMC, Redfish, IPMI, and Dell hardware.
- Preferred experience with GPU servers, network switches, routers, firewalls, SONiC, Palo Alto firewalls, Juniper Networks, VAST, or AI/ML and HPC infrastructure at scale.
