Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy production-grade GenAI systems for Saga, including RAG architectures, vector databases, LLM integrations, and tool-call frameworks.
  • Build and maintain evaluation and testing harnesses to validate LLM output quality and detect production regressions.
  • Integrate AI capabilities into TyrOS workflows with platform and product teams.
  • Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
  • Triage and debug production issues to ensure reliability and rapid iteration.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and military stakeholders to meet real-world sustainment requirements.

Requirements

  • At least four years of software engineering experience with a strong backend foundation in distributed systems, APIs, and production-grade software.
  • Hands-on experience building GenAI systems using vector databases, LLM integrations, RAG architectures, and LLM evaluation harnesses.
  • Familiarity with tool routing, tool-call validation, and common LLM failure modes.
  • Understanding of the underlying science of the AI systems being built, including why they work and where they break.
  • Experience at an AI-native company or a clear transition from backend engineering into AI specialization.
  • Experience with fine-tuning or model evaluation workflows is desired.
  • Familiarity with embedding pipelines and inference optimization is desired.
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or other complex operational domains is desired.
  • Experience deploying software to production, including cloud environments and edge infrastructure, is desired.
  • Strong ownership and a bias for action.
