Responsibilities
- Define and govern architectural standards across the engineering portfolio in alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct architectural reviews and design assessments and provide actionable guidance throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
- Create reusable architectural patterns, reference architectures, and blueprints to improve consistency and delivery speed.
- Establish engineering guardrails, support SDLC and QA maturity, and monitor compliance with quality and security standards.
- Track architectural health, technical debt, risk, and improvement opportunities through metrics and dashboards.
- Coach engineering teams through workshops, collaborative design sessions, enablement sessions, playbooks, and communities of practice.
- Collaborate with engineering leads, product owners, enterprise architects, security teams, and senior stakeholders on aligned technology decisions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and build business cases for tools that improve developer productivity, code quality, and delivery speed.
- Lead responsible adoption and governance of AI-assisted development tools, including code generation, automated testing, intelligent code review, and developer copilots.
- Measure the impact of AI adoption on engineering outcomes and iterate on the approach based on data.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Technical Architect or Senior Software Architect defining and governing architecture across complex, multi-team engineering environments.
- Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, microservices, API-first approaches, and infrastructure as code, preferably with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and governance practices such as TOGAF or equivalent, including architectural reviews, technical-debt management, and standards compliance.
- Understanding of security-by-design, DevSecOps, and quality-assurance frameworks within an SDLC context.
- Hands-on experience with .NET technologies, including .NET Core, ASP.NET, and C#, and the ability to guide teams using a Microsoft technology stack.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including influencing without authority and explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Software engineering or development experience is preferred.
- Experience with SDLC maturity models, quality metrics, platform engineering, developer experience, internal developer platforms, or golden paths is preferred.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer, Cursor, or similar is preferred.
- Coaching or mentoring experience and an interest in developing engineering capability are preferred.
