Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into optimized SQL queries and reporting solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain database objects, ETL workflows, and automation scripts.
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, statistics analysis, data modeling, and capacity improvements.
- Support trade capture data platforms handling real-time and archival processing.
- Develop Python-based automation for data validation and operational processes.
- Provide production support and act as the point of contact for user and reporting-related queries.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders, business users, and technology teams.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and other delivery activities.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience, including 5+ years of relational database expertise with DB2, Sybase, and/or Greenplum.
- Advanced SQL development experience, including stored procedures, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Python programming experience for ETL automation, data processing, and reporting solutions.
- Experience developing ETL workflows with Informatica or similar enterprise ETL tools.
- Production experience with Unix/Linux and Shell/K-Shell scripting.
- Experience with indexing, statistics analysis, database performance tuning, and data modeling.
- Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or QlikView.
- BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical workstreams.
- Experience driving end-to-end feature delivery and production support responsibilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Hadoop ecosystem, Spark processing, data mining and analytics, investment banking trade lifecycle knowledge, Java, and messaging technologies are preferred.
