Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Plan and perform software quality assurance engineering activities for major or moderately complex projects.
- Create, revise, and execute test plans, test cases, manual tests, and automated functional and regression tests.
- Set up, configure, and implement test environments for software, firmware, web services, and web-based user interfaces.
- Detect, document, investigate, validate, and track software defects and submit detailed defect reports and change requests.
- Review requirements, defect reports, log files, test coverage, and runtime documentation to verify implementation correctness.
- Test web services for functionality, load, and scalability and test HTML5-based user interfaces and database components.
- Collaborate with software and firmware developers, project managers, architecture teams, and cross-functional R&D teams on Smart Grid solutions.
- Identify testing risks, propose mitigations, provide escalations and status reports, and support released products as an escalated resource.
- Contribute to component and solution design, development, documentation, validation, quality-process improvement, and technology development.
- Assist engineers and project managers with design, prototype building, test-data creation, and other testing activities.
- Participate in recruitment, development, and mentoring of junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Three to five years of test development and engineering experience.
- At least two years of test-tool, test-automation, or production-level programming experience is desired.
- Programming experience with Python, ANSI C/C++, or C# is desired, preferably in the listed order.
- Experience with Linux/Unix setup and configuration, software development configuration issues, and the full software development life cycle is desired.
- Experience testing web services for functionality, load, and scalability; HTML5-based user interfaces; and software with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server database components is preferred.
- Experience with source control, automated build systems, quality assurance test tools, Agile development, and relevant development or validation methodologies is preferred.
- Knowledge of AMI and Smart Grid systems and solutions is preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication, troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, teamwork, and multitasking skills are required.
- Ability to complete and validate medium features with minimal oversight and design organized code and testing methodologies.
- Very good Windows experience, exposure to Google Cloud Platform, and proficiency with standard software and firmware development applications are preferred.
- Ability to work in an office environment, sit for extended periods, handle and move objects weighing 10–20 pounds, drive occasionally if required, and use required safety equipment when applicable.
