Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Design and implement improvements to existing applications and codebases.
- Lead or participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Build robust and highly scalable web services and distributed systems.
- Investigate new technologies and contribute to cloud, DevOps, and AI modernization initiatives.
- Identify quality issues and patterns, develop standard operating procedures, and improve system quality.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to implement technical designs.
- Mentor less experienced developers and lead project work when needed.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of Java full-stack development experience.
- At least 2.5 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments and Java Enterprise Edition.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented with Java.
- Strong experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, CI/CD DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- React front-end experience is a plus.
- Experience with event buses such as Pulsar and cloud-based big data solutions such as Snowflake is a plus.
- Knowledge of shell scripting, software security practices, big data, and machine learning.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Understanding of LLMs, automation, engineering toolchains, and translating AI innovation into business and productivity impact.
