Responsibilities
- Lead and structure an existing team of four engineers while developing a roadmap to grow the module to approximately eight engineers.
- Design and maintain a versioned scenario library covering nominal, edge, off-nominal, and contested flight conditions.
- Expand testing into Monte Carlo and multi-agent scenarios and develop the team’s simulation capabilities.
- Define execution strategies and gating policies across SITL, HITL, and CI, including telemetry capture, deterministic replay, and coverage analytics.
- Own technical boundaries with Tooling and co-ownership agreements with Validation.
- Correlate simulation models with real flight data to measure and reduce the sim-to-real gap.
- Collaborate with Tooling, Validation, GNC, Perception, and Embedded SW teams.
- Work from Paris or Lausanne and travel between sites as needed.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in automated testing, simulation-based validation, or test engineering for complex physical or hardware-in-the-loop systems.
- Hands-on experience designing scenario-based test suites on simulation platforms and defining meaningful coverage.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, Linux, Docker, and CI environments.
- Deep expertise in scenario design, SITL/HITL execution, and simulation tools.
- Proven ability to lead distributed engineers and establish clarity within an existing engineering team.
- Experience defining and maintaining interfaces with platform providers and internal customer teams.
- A rigorous approach to physical metrics, false positives, flaky test environments, and test validity.
- Working-level English.
- Defense or aerospace flight software, control systems, or sim-to-real fidelity experience is a bonus.
