Responsibilities
- Identify product and application security threats, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in daily development and operations activities as a Security Engineer.
- Build tools and processes for business and engineering teams using software development and coding practices.
- Maintain code management activities and support DevOps and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
- Support internal security team efforts and cross-functional initiatives.
- Serve as a primary security best-practices contact for regional engineering teams.
- Help engineering teams adopt secure development practices and processes.
- Execute product security and vulnerability management processes, including issue triage and closure tracking.
- Support regional and global initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related engineering field is highly desirable.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in software development, coding, DevOps, and CI/CD.
- Working knowledge of software development environments, IT risks, and security-solution implementation.
- Ability to communicate and enforce security measures across broad cross-functional groups.
- Strong written and verbal communication, technical documentation, diagramming, presentation, collaboration, and business skills.
- Meaningful technical contributions to the development lifecycle of products, applications, or services with guidance from senior team members.
- Additional security qualifications such as CISSP or CEH are a plus but are not required.
- Preferred experience includes software development for IT applications, embedded systems or software, and web-based applications, including lab work and debugging on target hardware.
- Preferred knowledge includes Git and source-code management tools, Linux kernel and networking security features, on-premises and cloud multi-tier applications, Windows, Linux, Android, iOS, boot loaders, compilers, debuggers, disassemblers, security circumvention, and reverse engineering.
