Responsibilities
- Own engineering work end to end from problem definition and technical design through implementation, iteration, and long-term support.
- Design and ship scalable backend systems, data models, agentic frameworks, and developer tooling.
- Use AI to accelerate software delivery while applying engineering judgment to validate generated output and maintain production quality.
- Improve developer productivity, delivery speed, cost efficiency, and MCP adoption through internal workflows and platform capabilities.
- Define and reinforce engineering practices through code reviews, specification reviews, testing standards, and technical decisions.
- Translate ambiguous developer and business intent into technical solutions while surfacing tradeoffs and risks.
- Mentor developers through feedback, technical guidance, code reviews, and visible problem-solving practices.
Requirements
- Experience shipping and supporting production software used by real customers and making technical decisions under pressure.
- Demonstrated experience using and creating MCP servers, including orchestrated workflows that use server-specific context.
- Demonstrated AI fluency in software delivery, including directing AI-assisted implementation and reviewing its output against a consistent quality bar.
- Ability to turn ambiguous input into clear, maintainable solutions in large codebases.
- Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs across engineering and leadership audiences and drive alignment.
- Self-awareness about development gaps and the ability to adjust decision-making approaches.
- A track record of improving the effectiveness of other developers through mentorship, code reviews, and technical guidance.
