Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Azure SQL and SQL Server databases for enterprise applications.
- Develop and optimize T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, views, and indexes.
- Ensure database performance, scalability, availability, and data integrity.
- Partner with application developers on backend and full-stack features.
- Implement and manage database deployments using PowerShell and automated release pipelines.
- Support CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps and GitHub.
- Perform schema versioning, migrations, partitioning, and release coordination across environments.
- Troubleshoot production issues and conduct performance tuning and root cause analysis.
- Enforce database security, access controls, and database best practices.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience as a Database Developer or in an equivalent role is required.
- Advanced expertise in SQL Server and Azure SQL is required.
- Strong T-SQL development skills, including stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization, are required.
- Experience with Azure-hosted databases and cloud-based architectures is required.
- Hands-on PowerShell experience for database deployment and automation is required.
- Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and GitHub for version control is required.
- Solid understanding of database design principles and data modeling is required.
- Experience supporting applications built with .NET and C# is required.
- Experience with infrastructure as code using Bicep, ARM, or Terraform is preferred.
- Familiarity with Azure database monitoring, performance diagnostics, security, auditing, compliance, and Agile/Scrum environments is preferred.
