Base Salary
$180k - $290k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build key components of Stellar Core, the backbone software behind the Stellar Network.
- Develop robust, scalable, and extensible technologies for developers and network participants.
- Collaborate on architectures and subsystems with the CTO, engineers, and open-source developers.
- Write clean, maintainable code with careful edge-case analysis and future-proofing.
- Own core Stellar Core subsystems and help deliver critical product milestones.
- Participate in code review and design while contributing to engineering best practices.
- Investigate and refactor performance bottlenecks to scale the system.
- Author detailed technical feature and protocol RFC specifications.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software development experience on a team.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
- Production experience writing modern C++ or Rust.
- Strong understanding of reusable, extensible, and modular software design patterns.
- Ability to communicate effectively and lead technical discussions during design and code review.
- Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking.
- Direct distributed-systems design and implementation experience is a bonus.
- Curiosity about blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies, with an understanding of their fundamentals, is a bonus.
