Responsibilities
- Design, develop, retrofit, debug, and maintain software systems and major product components.
- Provide tier II or tier III support, perform root-cause analysis, and develop problem-prevention procedures and checklists.
- Monitor and tune network, hardware, and software performance and protocol compatibility.
- Maintain network devices, system hardware, software, and configurations, including restoration activities.
- Anticipate and mitigate potential attacks and other security risks to systems and connections.
- Develop technical documentation, functional specifications, software architecture and requirements documents, and other design artifacts.
- Participate in test strategy development, implementations, rollouts, disaster recovery planning and testing, and installation coordination.
- Research hardware and software solutions, evaluate products with vendors, and coordinate RFP processes.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional software development experience.
- At least three years of experience developing with .NET technologies in complex systems environments.
- Two to four years of experience developing Windows applications or n-tier client/server systems using professional programming languages, extensions, and platforms.
- Experience with at least two of C#, JavaScript, WPF, VB.NET, T-SQL, Ajax, and Silverlight.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows internals, messaging, the Windows API, and multithreading techniques.
- Working knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, networking protocols, network programming interfaces, ODBC, ADO, and XML.
- Experience with full-lifecycle software design, commercial or open-source development processes, and development tools.
- Development experience with SQL Server databases and T-SQL in high-transaction-volume environments.
- A bachelor's degree in a related discipline is preferred; significant applied experience or a combination of education and experience may substitute.
- Preferred qualifications include knowledge of SQL Server internals and real-time transaction processing experience.
