Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Manage technical projects and help teams design and build extensible, production-quality AI/ML systems and pipelines.
- Explore data and craft AI solutions addressing core business problems.
- Work with Partners and Principals to shape proposals using AI and engineering capabilities.
- Build and deploy LLM-based agent systems in production.
- Lead development of proprietary AI/ML solutions, algorithms, analytical tools, and infrastructure.
- Design and operate evaluation frameworks and observability tooling to measure AI quality, detect failure modes, and maintain production performance.
- Apply best practices in modeling, code hygiene, and data engineering while engaging directly with clients and collaborating across Oliver Wyman teams.
Requirements
- Technical background in computer science, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistics, or another quantitative and computational science discipline.
- Compelling track record designing and deploying large-scale technical solutions that deliver sustained value.
- Direct experience building and deploying robust, complex production systems implementing modern artificial intelligence at scale.
- Fluency in modern programming languages for AI and agents across the end-to-end AI development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of one or more agentic platforms, such as Azure Foundry, AWS Bedrock, or Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.
- Deep familiarity with compound AI systems, including retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, agentic memory, and multi-agent orchestration.
- Proficiency in LLM system design, including prompt engineering, context and token management, structured output, fine-tuning tradeoffs, and cost and latency optimization.
- Practical awareness of AI risk, bias, and governance, including identifying and mitigating failure modes in high-stakes or regulated environments.
- Solid theoretical grounding in AI/ML mathematics and applied understanding of modeling or analytical techniques, including statistics, linear algebra, and vector calculus.
- Ability to make consequential design decisions rapidly in large, time-boxed projects.
- Experience presenting at high-impact AI/ML engineering conferences and strong AI/ML engineering community connections is valued.
- Side projects or open-source contributions and background in financial services, healthcare and life sciences, consumer, retail, energy, or transportation are valued.

- Applicable base salary range is $195K to $250K USD, with potential eligibility for performance-based incentives.

- Hybrid work arrangement requires colleagues to work in their local office or onsite with clients at least three days per week; office-based teams identify at least one weekly anchor day.
