Responsibilities
- Own the health, availability, resiliency, and completeness of Tier 1 and Tier 2 BI assets across multiple teams.
- Design and maintain progressive rollout, canary deployment, FMEA, and operational reliability practices.
- Plan, test, and validate disaster recovery for BI assets on a recurring cadence.
- Run mock incidents and game days, support incident response, and drive post-incident remediation.
- Build automation, reusable libraries, and self-service tooling to reduce manual operational toil.
- Own cloud resiliency, performance engineering, security posture, observability, and cost optimization across BI.
- Establish patterns for log retention, compute right-sizing, resource tagging, chargeback, and shared platform adoption.
- Partner with the DBA and influence multiple scrum teams without direct authority.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in an SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure/platform engineering role, ideally supporting data, BI, or analytics platforms.
- Demonstrated ownership of production reliability for multiple services or assets, including on-call, incident response, postmortems, and remediation.
- Hands-on experience designing, executing, testing, and validating disaster recovery plans.
- Experience with canary deployments, blue/green rollouts, and feature-flag-gated releases.
- Proficiency building automation or software tooling to eliminate manual operational toil.
- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure cost management, including right-sizing, log and data volume hygiene, resource tagging, and chargeback.
- Experience with observability stacks such as Splunk for incident diagnosis and cost or volume management.
- Strong cross-team collaboration and influence skills.
- Preferred: experience with game days or chaos engineering, FMEA or similar risk assessment, Intuit platforms such as IKS and AIR or comparable enterprise Kubernetes or AI infrastructure migrations, cloud security engineering, and internal developer platforms or shared libraries.
