Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of complex engineering problems and make independent technical, trade-off, and implementation decisions.
- Write well-tested code and design data pipelines and ML workflows, ensuring strong test coverage and deployment quality.
- Scope multi-week features, debug complex issues, identify technical debt, and recommend tools and approaches for adoption.
- Act as a subject matter expert, communicate technical information to diverse stakeholders, and contribute to team direction.
- Coach less experienced engineers and drive improvements in processes, knowledge sharing, and engineering quality.
Requirements
- BA/BS in a quantitative or engineering discipline is required; an MS is a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, ML engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, including writing clean, well-tested code independently.
- Experience developing data pipelines and supporting ML workflows such as feature pipelines, model inputs, and data preparation.
- Growing MLOps proficiency and hands-on experience with cloud-native platforms, preferably Databricks or broadly AWS or Azure.
- Demonstrated independent delivery, technical judgment, stakeholder communication, and ability to enable less experienced teammates.
