Responsibilities
- Develop and upstream Linux kernel support for AMD x86-64 architecture features and core CPU and SoC capabilities.
- Work across virtualization, memory management, performance, scalability, low-level bring-up, and distribution interactions.
- Debug Linux kernel subsystems and virtualization components using low-level debugging tools, emulators, and simulators.
- Contribute patches to Linux and related open-source projects while collaborating with external software partners.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in software development and systems or kernel engineering.
- Expertise in x86 architecture, Linux kernels, virtualization, security, operating-system concepts, data structures, ACPI, and PCIe.
- Advanced C programming skills for operating-system kernel and systems development.
- Experience with Linux KVM, QEMU or other open-source VMMs, kernel debugging, upstream development workflows, and open-source contributions.
- Experience with the GNU toolchain, Git, mailing-list patch submission, external software collaboration, and low-level debugging tools.
- Understanding of I/O and core kernel development is preferred.
